The selection of elemental weapons in Destiny 2 keeps on growing with every season, and the same goes for the range of great Void weapons. Pairing well with the Void 3.0 subclass that was released originally with The Witch Queen's first season, Season of the Risen, they're also some of the best overall weapons in the game as of Season of the Wish thanks to a few outliers.

The new Spire of the Watcher dungeon Exotic in Destiny 2, Hierarchy of Needs, comes with a catalyst. Here's how to acquire it.
From Exotic picks to Legendary weapons, PVE players who are eager to have a proper selection of solid Void weapons don't need to luck any further than this list of the best Void weapons in Destiny 2. While PVP considerations have been mostly ignored and some repeat archetypes have been omitted as well, this list will likely be expanded upon in the future as more weapons are released into the game with the upcoming The Final Shape expansion.
Updated on March 23, 2024, by Anastasia Maillot: Destiny 2's next expansion, The Final Shape, has been delayed. Instead, a content update known as Into the Light will fill the void for a little while as players eagerly wait for the conclusion of the Light and Darkness saga. In terms of in-game meta, not much has changed. Void is in a solid position, especially for the Hunter class, and pairing up a Void weapon for that elemental synergy is always a good idea in PVE. With one new addition to the list and a few updates to some weapons that were previously unavailable, here are the best Void weapons in Destiny 2 as of March 2024.
14 Buried Bloodline
Exotic Void Sidearm From Warlord's Ruin Dungeon
- Exotic reward from Warlord's Ruin dungeon.
Warlord's Ruin is the most recent dungeon, introduced during Season of the Wish, and if players are lucky they might get a chance to earn its Exotic drop, Buried Bloodline. Although it's a sidearm, it comes with two effects that make it particularly interesting for Void weapon enjoyers: health leech from enemies and Devour from rapid final blows.
Not to mention, the weapon has a unique, aesthetically pleasing appearance akin to an old-school medieval hand crossbow. As far as sidearms go, it's the only one in the Void category worth getting as of early 2024, and slots well into almost any Void build regardless of class.
13 Null Composure
A PVE-Friendly Fusion Rifle
- Purchase from Monument to Lost Lights.
An old seasonal weapon from back in the day, Null Composure is still one of the kings of fusion rifles when discussing PVE options. And that goes even though fusion rifles haven't been properly part of the PVE meta since Season of the Lost, thanks to its solid perks.
With Reservoir Burst and Feeding Frenzy available, it's just a nice Special weapon to add into a Void build in particular, if players choose to run an Exotic or Legendary Kinetic primary. It can still be picked up from the Monument to Lost Lights if players were unable to grab it when it was a seasonal weapon.
12 Veles-X
A Heavy-Hitting Pulse Rifle
- Purchase from Monument to Lost Lights.
An old seasonal weapon, the Veles-X was already powerful when it first came out. This pulse rifle might feel a bit sluggish when fired due to its Aggressive Frame, but it's the perfect addition to any PVE Void builds that require a pulse rifle for champion stunning purposes.
Repulsor Brace pairs up brilliantly with Void builds in general by granting Void overshield, and Golden Tricorn is excellent at ensuring the player earns a bit of ability energy when using the weapon. Overall, these are both very strong PVE perks, so it's worth grabbing the Veles-X from the Monument to Lost Lights just in case.
11 Commemoration
The Perfect Ad-Clearing Machine Gun
- Drops from the Deep Stone Crypt raid. Can be crafted after 5 unlocked patterns.
Commemoration might not be as beastly as another important Void machine gun listed further down, but it's still one of the greatest options Destiny 2 has to offer. Players can get one from the Deep Stone Crypt raid, and after unlocking five patterns, it can be crafted. Its Origin Trait, Bray Inheritance, returns ability energy to players when they deal damage with Commemoration—perfect for the ability spam meta of the game.

Destiny 2: 11 Best Solar Weapons, Ranked
Destiny 2 has a wide range of great Legendary and Exotic Solar weapons, but these are currently the best.
The ideal perks for this one are definitely Reconstruction in the first slot in order to avoid reloading the weapon and Killing Tally in the second perk slot to get a slight damage boost as players score kills.
10 Hollow Denial
A Great Special Weapon Choice For Double Special Builds
- Buy it from Banshee-44 or Xur. Can be crafted after 5 unlocked patterns.
- Lead from Gold & Repulsor Brace.
Although double Special weapon builds were hit with balance changes, they can still work quite well in PVE. And since Hollow Denial can now appear in Banshee-44's or Xur's stock, it's worth getting due to its two powerful perks.
The ideal perk combination for this Void trace rifle is Lead from Gold and Repulsor Brace. It allows players to have basically infinite ammunition if they use their heavy weapon just as much for clearing ads. Repulsor Brace grants a nice Void Overshield, but those who don't plan on using Void to debuff targets can also go with Killing Tally.
9 Harsh Language
The Go-To Void Wave Frame
- World drop. Buy it from Banshee-44.
- Envious Assassin & Destabilizing Rounds
Harsh Language is a Void wave frame that made some literal waves in the Destiny 2 community in Season of Defiance. Wave frames in general are worth their weight in gold, and Harsh Language proves that. For a world drop, it's an incredibly strong grenade launcher with some interesting perk options.
For this weapon, Envious Assassin and Destabilizing Rounds turn it into a monstrously good ad-clear tool, though Repulsor Brace is also a possible option for players who plan to run a full Void build with this one.
8 Nessa's Oblation
A Solid Shotgun For PVE
- Earned from the Root of Nightmares raid. Crafted after 5 unlocked patterns.
- Reconstruction & Destabilizing Rounds
The new Root of Nightmares raid that was released with the Lightfall expansion came with its own selection of interesting weapons. Among them, Nessa's Oblation is a surprisingly good option, as shotguns have become more and more viable in PVE as of late.
This Void shotgun is a Pinpoint Slug Frame, so precision is key when using it. For perks, Reconstruction is basically a must-have in order to avoid wasting time reloading in PVE, and Destabilizing Rounds just pairs wonderfully with Void subclasses in general.
7 Le Monarque
An Exotic Bow With Anti-Champion Capabilities
- Buy it from the Monument to Lost Lights.
Le Monarque was a strong Exotic in PVP for the longest time but has since somewhat lost relevance and gained some in PVE. The Exotic Void bow was one of the Exotics that were reworked for Season of the Plunder and now has an intrinsic anti-Overload champion perk.
The community has shown that pairing Le Monarque with an additional anti-Overload bow mod also does extra damage to the champion, so next time Overload Bow is back on the menu, Le Monarque is an ideal choice. Le Monarque deals poison damage over time to targets, which hinders their natural health regeneration (which is why it's so beastly in PVP or used to be).
6 Doom Of Chelchis
The Best Void Scout Rifle
- Earned from King's Fall raid. Crafted after 5 unlocked patterns.
- Firefly & Explosive Payload
In terms of Void scout rifles, there are two major contenders that come to mind: Aisha's Embrace and Doom of Chelchis. Both are not easy ones to get, with Aisha's Embrace now out of the Trials of Osiris loot pool and Doom of Chelchis exclusive to the King's Fall raid. However, they are both incredible weapons with great perks, though Doom of Chelchis' perk pool is a bit more enticing.

Destiny 2: Top 5 Tips To Use Your Skimmer
Destiny 2's newest vehicle, The Skimmer, is a hoverboard that provides players with immense style and skill, provided they know how to use it.
Those who have the opportunity should try and get the Harrowed version of Doom of Chelchis from the Master King's Fall raid. It comes with both PVP and PVE-friendly perks, but for PVE Firefly or Explosive Payload is almost always a must in the first column. Make sure to get it Harrowed, as mentioned, or unlock five patterns and craft the perfect version.
5 The Other Half
A Must-Have Utility Sword With Eager Edge
- Earn it from the chest at Xur's Treasure Hoard. Can be crafted after 5 unlocked patterns.
- Any perk combined with Eager Edge.
When it comes to Void swords, there were once again two great contenders: The Other Half and Fallen Guillotine. Both are absolute must-have weapons for any PVE nerds out there, but The Other Half wins simply because of how much it has done for the Destiny 2 community in terms of movement and speedrunning.
Eager Edge is the one perk players need to be looking for when it comes to this weapon. When first switching to The Other Half and attacking using primary fire, Eager Edge launches players a decent distance away. This makes scaling jumping puzzles a breeze, even after the Eager Edge nerfs. To get this sword, players will need to unlock the treasure chest over at Xur's Treasure Hoard and farm it for The Other Half. It can now also be crafted, like the other Dares of Eternity weapons.
4 Funnelweb
The Best Void SMG
- World drop or buy it from Banshee-44.
- Frenzy & Subsistence
If there's one iconic Legendary weapon that defined the era of The Witch Queen expansion, then surely it's Funnelweb. This humble-looking SMG became quickly everyone's favorite meta primary weapon early in the Season of the Risen, with great synergy with Volatile Flow and Void 3.0. The great part is that it's still almost as good, and so beloved that even outside of the Void subclass, people tend to run it.
It can be substituted to a degree with Unforgiven, the SMG from Duality, but Funnelweb is simply more accessible for most players and isn't gated behind paid content. It can be found in Legendary engrams. Players should look for Subsistence and Frenzy for the ideal perk combination.
3 Collective Obligation
An Exotic Pulse Rifle That Can Debuff Targets
- Exotic drop from the Vow of the Disciple raid.
Another Exotic weapon, Collective Obligation is the raid Exotic from Vow of the Disciple and continues to be a weapon that is still somewhat slept on by most of the community. It saw significant buffs during Season of the Plunder, which has now turned it into a seriously great pick for any Void builds (but mostly Void Hunters).
Collective Obligation can store Void Leech, and when activated, it debuffs targets. It can now essentially take over Divinity's role as a weakening weapon, while also being a primary that deals serious damage and has good synergy with Void 3.0. Hunters in particular will love it when combined with the Gyrlfacon's Hauberk chest piece.
2 Taipan-4FR
A Great Contender For Top Precision DPS
- World drop which can be crafted with two patterns.
- Triple Tap & Firing Line/Frenzy
So what about raw DPS on the Void subclass? Taipan-4FR is undoubtedly the first pick that everyone favors. It only requires two patterns to be unlocked as a craftable weapon, and it's immensely powerful as a linear fusion rifle.
Taipan-4FR's ideal perks include Firing Line and Triple Tap, but if players plan on playing solo, they'll need to replace Firing Line with a different perk like Field Prep or Frenzy. Even after the significant 15% damage nerf that linear fusion rifles took, Taipan-4FR remains an incredibly powerful damage choice.
1 Retrofit Escapade
A Machine Gun For Sustained Damage On Single Targets
- Buy it from Banshee-44 or Xur. Craft it after 5 unlocked patterns.
- Target Lock & Fourth Time's the Charm
Although rocket launchers are the go-to for damage right now with the linear fusion rifle nerfs, Retrofit does have its own space still as one of the best machine guns in the game. It can still do decent sustained damage on a target but is probably best suited for ad-clear nowadays.
Target Lock and Fourth Time's the Charm are the ideal perk combination for those who would like to use it as a sustained damage source on a set target.
